Youth Training Year Round?
Strength and Power training needs to be part of the year round process for any athlete who wants to play at the highest levels ideally beginning at approximately age 11.

Why 11?
11 appears to be the key times to start. Until 11 the key is development of athleticism through multiple sports.the early specialization approach has been a complete failure.

What Roles does Sport Play?
The purpose of sport is to teach kids about success and failure. The failure lesson may in fact be more important than the success. Sports should primarily provide life lessons.

Early Specialization?
Most teams are what are called late specialization sports. This means that early concentration/specialization has actually been shown to slow development rather than speed it up.

Why is Youth Training Important?
Skill may only improve 10-20% after the age of 14. Strength and conditioning maximizes skill.
